Domestic Crop Updates
VALENCIA ORANGES
All houses are well into harvesting of this season's crop, having finished all other varieties for the season. Even though this is one of the lightest volume crops in many years, fruit sizes are not running very large, as is the norm for a lighter crop. Fruit sizes are peaking at 88-72-113-138 with the majority of the larger fruit, 48-56's, having been shipped. Sugar/acid ratios are running 10-12+ with brix levels running 11.5-13+. Fruit quality is good with heavier than usual texture on the larger sizes.
LEMONS
VIS Exchange will be working closely with Saticoy Lemon this season with lemon consolidations in District 1. Saticoy Lemon will maintain a supply of lemons at the Garden Gate facility, 211 2nd Street in Exeter, California. We will consolidate the fruit to our houses for any order business you might need.
Please contact Jon Martin at Visalia Fruit Exchange for orders.
