Export Crop Updates
VALENCIA ORANGES
All Visalia houses are exporting Valencias. While we have fruit showing re-greening, we are still able to Export with no gas on the fruit, as all houses are color sorting for export. Quality is good with some heavier texture fruit seen in the larger sizes, which is not unusual for such a light volume crop as this season is. Even though this is one of the lightest volume crops in many years, sizes are peaking to the mid-range sizes of 88-72-113-138. The majority of the large sized fruit, 48-56's have been shipped. Sugar/acid ratios are running 10-12+ with brix levels running 11.5-13+.
Seven-week projections are available by e-mailing Bob Walters at the address on our web page.
